Silver Creek Farms Horse Trainng & Riding

Diana Good and her first Horse Captain My love for horses began when I was about three years old. When asked in Kindergarten what I wanted to do when I grew up my reply was, "I want to ride horses! "

My very first pony was named Captain. Together, we learned a great deal about teamwork. We formed a great partnership with ups and downs. My father bought me my first horse when I was seven years old. I have been blessed to have had horses in my life ever since. I started my riding obsession riding English. I competed on Hunters for many years. At the age of nineteen, while jumping at the height of five foot three, I decided I wanted to try something new and different. I then realized I had a "need for speed" and purchased my first Reiner.

I showed on the AQHQ (American Quarter Horse Association) circuit for a couple of years. As it turns out from there I got very involved with Team Sorting, which became one of my favorite equine activities for years. Working your horse with cattle requires a lot of trust and teamwork. From there, I moved on to riding Western Pleasure horses. Then I hit the trails and knew at last I had found my true love of the equine experience. I have ridden on almost every trail in Orange County, but I'm always in search of new ones.

Testimonial from Mark H.
"I just started riding a few years ago and I am now in my early 60s. At this stage of my life, I want to ride with safety as my first priority. Diana is the perfect trainer for my goal, because she is very good at making sure that I don't take unnecessary risks on my horse. She has also been very patient at teaching me proper horsemanship so that my horse and I have a pleasant experience each time we ride. Above all, she is someone who loves horses and people who enjoy horses. I highly recommend her for your western horse training and riding. "

WHAT I DO

Horse training on the beachHorse training on Orange County TrailsMy clients do everything from competing in IEL (Interscholastic Equestrian League) horse shows to local all breed open Western Pleasure shows, to riding at ACTHA (American Competitive Trail Horse Association) events. Some clients just enjoy our wonderful trails in the O C. I often take my clients on camping trips. We have a lot of great county parks in our local area that offer campsites with stalls. I have also taken a small group of clients to Pioneer Town near Palm Springs, for great desert trail riding. We also go to the Central Coast where we ride from our hotel to the beach, through sand dunes, and in the ocean.

Testimonial from Beth T.
"As a teenager, I owned a horse. After a break of 30 years, I became the owner of a horse again. I really had to start from ground zero. Diana has been there every step of the way. She taught me the essentials of riding and caring for my horse. Diana is dependable, patient, knowledgeable and kind. She understands the concepts of natural horsemanship and has made owning a horse a joy for me."
